Proverbs 1:1-7
The proverbs of Solomon son of David, king of Israel:
2 for gaining wisdom and instruction;
for understanding words of insight;
3 for receiving instruction in prudent behavior,
doing what is right and just and fair;
4 for giving prudence to those who are simple,[a]
knowledge and discretion to the young—
5 let the wise listen and add to their learning,
and let the discerning get guidance—
6 for understanding proverbs and parables,
the sayings and riddles of the wise.[b]
7 The fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge,
but fools[c] despise wisdom and instruction.
The bold phrases are what stood out to me the most...I was amazed to see how much I fail in this, being unwise and not listening, just letting instructions and wise words slip by me. It stood out to me that it's the wise who listen and apply right away, no matter how it is presented to them. Even if someone is not telling you the truth in love, a wise person will accept it and add it to their learning. Something I lack big time! Throughout the week already I have noticed that I reject everything that comes at me without love or gentleness. To be wise is to fear God, to fear God is to be wise they go hand in hand. If you fear God, if you fear to sin because it is a discuss to our God, yeah you are pretty wise! Accept the Truth, not only listen when the truth is coming at you, but be ready to hear it everywhere listen out! Add it to your bank of wisdom it wont hurt you it will only make you wiser! Finally Apply it, live it out! Pray to God so He can help you use it and become more like Him!
Encourage each other to be wise:)
